AirNet Communications Awarded TL 9000 Certification
Melbourne, FL, March 14, 2005 - AirNet Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: ANCC), the technology leader in software defined base station products for wireless communications, today announced that it has been awarded the TL 9000 certification by the Quality of Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum. The certification is valid for the design, production, sales and service of wireless voice and data communications equipment solutions.
AirNet has now joined the ranks of an elite group of industry leaders to have complied with the rigorous standards of TL 9000, said Glenn Ehley, president and CEO for AirNet Communications Corp. TL 9000 registration is fast becoming a prerequisite to supply products and services to major OEM resellers and large operators worldwide.
TL 9000 is a quality standard developed specifically for hardware and software manufacturers, as well as service providers, within the telecommunications industry to define and harmonize quality system requirements for the design, development, production, delivery, installation and maintenance of products and services. The TL 9000 standard strengthens key areas, such as product reliability and associated costs; development and lifecycle management; requirements management and customer satisfaction. Having earned both ISO 9001:2000 re-certification and TL 9000 certification, AirNet Communications has successfully demonstrated compliance with the most up-to-date quality system requirements for the telecommunications industry.
Achieving TL 9000 certification underscores AirNetís ongoing commitment to deliver the highest quality and most reliable products to meet its customersí needs, said Pat Muirragui, vice president of The Customer Care Center at AirNet Communications Corporation. It is proof that AirNet Communications has successfully integrated TL 9000 in its business model. Today, AirNet has joined a select group of approximately 700 worldwide telecom suppliers, out of more than an estimated 10,000, that have satisfied the stringent requirements of TL 9000. This is a tremendous achievement and proves that our highly trained and dedicated workforce is committed to continual improvement and delivering the highest quality products to our customers.
The QuEST Forum represents a unique partnership between service providers and suppliers to implement requirements to improve the quality of telecommunications products and services. TL 9000 expands and adapts the ISO 9001 standard requirements to the telecom industry. Globalization of the telecommunications industry is one of the forces driving the need to apply a common set of quality requirements throughout the supply chain. The TL 9000 standard encourages communications and partnership with customers and suppliers to share joint expectations for continual product quality improvement and mutually beneficial business relationships.
The TL 9000 audit was conducted by DNV Certification, Inc., a part of Det Norske Veritas; a major international foundation that was established in 1864 with the objective of “safeguarding life, property and the environment.” DNV is a leading third party registrar providing ISO 9001:2000 and TL 9000 certifications.
