AirNet Communications Expands Training and Customer Service Capability; College of Wireless Communications to Offer Courses and Real-World Wireless Laboratory

CTIA Wireless 2001, Las Vegas, NV/Melbourne, FL, March 21, 2001 - AirNet Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: ANCC), the technology leader in base station products for wireless communications, today announced the expansion of its training and customer service capability with the opening of the AirNet College of Wireless Communications.

The new facility is located in Melbourne, Florida and includes: a dedicated switch and equipment room with a fully functional AirNet GSM Base Station Subsystem (BSS), an adjoining classroom with computer terminals for students, a conference room, and visitor and staff offices. The College will host both U.S. and international students, and will also serve as a training resource for AirNet employees.

“The establishment of AirNet’s College of Wireless Communications is yet another important step towards focusing the company’s efforts on customer service,” said Lee Hamilton, president and CEO of AirNet Communications. “This facility will provide all of our customers a real-life learning laboratory where they can gain the technical proficiency to manage their respective enterprises.”

The College expands the company’s training capability with a comprehensive, five-day program of the AirNet GSM BSS and all its components. Additional programs will be offered later this year, and will include Tier 2 maintenance and troubleshooting courses as well as various two-day courses on General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and general purpose electronic test equipment. Attendees of the AirNet College of Wireless Communications will have the opportunity to be certified as AirNet Field Engineers.
